Christmas times O' fun

I figured I had better post some of our Christmas activities before its spring!

Olivia and Daddy checking to make sure all the lights worked before putting them on the tree. Every time they would plug in a new batch they would both go "Ooooooo". It was very cute to watch.

Jason putting on the lights.

Olivia and Daddy making sure the lights look okay.

Finally done.

Olivia has decided she is a snow bunny! She hates it when its time to go in, but since Mommy is not a fan of the snow she doesn't get to spend too much time in it either.

For those who live near a Cabela's go see Santa. They give you the picture in a card and its all FREE!!!

Here is Olivia in her Christmas church outfit. I know they are weird pictures but sometimes you get what you get.

Thanksgiving!!

We had a great Thanksgiving in Bountiful with my parents and Rosie. We ate, watched tv/movies, slept, I read The Host, shopped a bit, and went to Temple Square. It was a perfect way to spend the holiday. Of course I forgot my camera so I stole these pictures from Rosie!!! Thanks Rosie.

Dress up time

The other day when I was trying to change Olivia's clothes she came across a pair of snowboots in her closet. We all know how much she likes to try on shoes so of course she had to put these on before I was allowed to put her clothes on. She could barely walk because they are too big and the went up to her knees. She had a good time trying though.

Words of Wisdom and Hope from Elder James J. Hamula

"You were entrusted to come to the earth in these last days to do again what you did before—to once again choose good over evil." - Elder James J. Hamula

With everything that has been going on in the last week over prop8 it has made me realize that we really are in the last days. I look around and I know in my heart that things will get worse. Maybe not right now but in the future. All those gray areas are starting to become more and more black and white. I look at Olivia and I know she and her future siblings, cousins, friends, and peers are going to be in for the fight of their lives. I also know that they will be up for it. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know the strength of these little souls they have given us and will give us. They truly are children of God and he will be with them through everything. No matter what comes against them it will not be stronger than they are.

In looking for a little comfort I came accross a talk given be Elder Hamula during the priesthood session of the last conference. Its titled, Winning the war against evil. It strengthend my testimony that the Lord has leaders in this church that know exactly what we need to hear when we need to hear it. As we continue to follow the Prophet and other leaders in the church and really take to heart those things that they are telling us we will be okay. I am so proud to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am so proud of all the work that went in to prop8 by everyone and especially my family members. I know the fight is not over and there is still a lot of hatred out there, but if we all continue to stand firm in our beliefs and trust in the Lord things will turn out the way they are suppose to.

The following are a few parts of Elder Hamula's talk that stuck out to me. Enjoy.

"Reserved to come forth in these last days and labor for our Father and His Son are some of the most valiant and noble of our Father’s sons and daughters. Their valiance and nobility were demonstrated in the pre-earth struggle with Satan. There, “being left to choose good or evil,” they “[chose] good” and exhibited “exceedingly great faith” and “good works.” Such are the traits that are now needed to sustain the work of God in the earth and to save the souls of men from the intensifying wrath of the adversary."

"With God’s kingdom restored to the earth and your entry into the world, Satan knows that “he hath but a short time.” Therefore, Satan is marshalling every resource at his disposal to entice you into transgression. He knows that if he can draw you into transgression, he may prevent you from serving a full-time mission, marrying in the temple, and securing your future children in the faith, all of which weakens not only you but the Church. He knows that nothing can overthrow God’s kingdom “save it [be] the transgression of [his] people.” Make no mistake about it—the focus of his war is now on you—you who seek to “keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”

"Now, my young friends, you need to appreciate that our days now and the days that lie ahead are “perilous.” In this regard, President Boyd K. Packer has observed:
“I know of nothing in the history of the Church or in the history of the world to compare with our present circumstances. Nothing happened in Sodom and Gomorrah which exceeds in wickedness and depravity that which surrounds us now.”

"My dear brethren of the Aaronic Priesthood, these are your days! Do not squander them! Be sober! Take “the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall . . . quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Then “fight the good fight of faith.” And when you have done all, “stand” still and “see the salvation of the Lord.” I assure you that His salvation will come, delivering you and yours from every evil. I so testify in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen.

Birthday Bash

So last night Jason said he was taking me to this really great place for dinner. We were going to drop Olivia off with his mom. When we got to her house I saw Rosie's car out front and knew something was up. Come to find out he had planned a grilled cheese extravaganza for me. His family and mine were there. He had all kinds of cheeses, meats, and breads. He took everyones orders and made all the sandwiches. Shane helped too. On the table was a big #30 made out of 30 chocolate cupcakes with tons of sprinkles. He also had my 2 favorite sodas, fresca and DP. So I had all my favorites. Grilled cheese, chocolate, sprinkles, and soda. Although I rarely drink soda. I was spoiled with gift cards to all my favorite stores, organizers for all my jewelry making supplies, a box of twinkies, trashy gossip magazines, catch phrase, a Joshua Raidin concert with Rosie, cutest red shoes and gray sweater boots, and not a single picture to prove it!! Yep we forgot the camera!!!! It was pretty much the best birthday a girl could have!! Except the part where Olivia has been sick since monday. We thought she was over it. Then the second we walked in the door last night she threw up twice. Anyway, thanks to everyone who helped turning 30 not feel so bad!!!! I love you Jason.

Halloween

Well Halloween has come and gone. Olivia was a fairy again since we already had the outfit. She loved going door to door. She was so cute most people let her take as much as she could grab. Which was usually one piece in each hand. Lucky for me I get to eat most of what she got. Yummo! Uncle Shane did give her a baby ruth for some reason. We made a trade and she ended up with a 3 musketeer. Her one and only treat for the night. When we got home she continued to trick or treat from our bowl. She fell asleep with a kit kat in each hand.

Enjoying the fall before it leaves

Last week Olivia and I went up AF canyon to enjoy the leaves and the nice weather before it goes away for a vey long time. She thought it was so funny to peal moss off the trees and eat it. I did not think it was quite as funny.

Families are forever

I can't imagine anything worse than losing a child. My heart goes out to Ashley and Daryl. Little Jace was born sept. 4th and passed away from a rare lung condition on sunday.

Most of you know Daryl and Ashley Larsen. For those of you who don't, they are a young couple here in Perry, who just lost their baby to a rare lung disorder. Their loss is truly a tragedy. They are now experiencing the beginnings of what will be a land slide of medical bills. In an effort to aide them, there will be a one day fundraiser at the Maddox Steak House. On November 5, you can call Maddox at 723-2916 and order the Turkey Steak dinner. You can choose the 2 or 4 family meal at the regular price. All proceeds will then be donated to the Larsen family. You do need to remember to mention the Larsen family name when ordering. You can then pick up your meal at the take out window in the back of Maddox. It will be for lunch and dinner. Please spread the word. Feel free to copy and paste this post on your blog .

Old and drab to new and fab

This is what my living room looked like when we first moved in. It has continued to look like this until last week. Sad but true.

Its amazing what a few new accessories can do for a place.

Of course the happy halloween sign will come down soon.

Following the leader

Now that she has mastered the art of walking and following me around the house, Olivia thinks she should try it wearing my slippers and shoes. She is getting better and has found she can wear daddy's shoes backwards and still kind of walk. Oh the new things we learn everyday!!!

We ate, drank (soda), and were merry.

We were lucky enough to have the Jensen family visit us this past weekend. It was a weekend full of fun, eating, shopping, golfing, eating, late nights, throw up at church, and did I mention eating.
Addie had fun feeding Olivia. Which worked out well cause Olivia loves to eat!

Photoshoot up American Fork Canyon.

It doesn't get much better than this.

After having way too much fun it was time for a nap.

Thanks Jensen's for a great weekend! We can't wait to do it again soon.

Party, Party, Party!!

We finally had Olivia's birthday party Friday night. It was a fairy party so she of course dressed up as one. We had shredded sweet pork tacos, which I made all by myself, and cake and ice cream. As you can see Olivia loved the cake!!! We had so much fun, thanks to everyone who came and those who wanted to come.
