december is one of those months that is crazy busy and before you know it its over. besides christmas we also get to celebrate mya's birthday and our anniversary. they happen to be on the same day so in order to space things out a bit jason and i celebrated earlier in the month. we booked a hotel room downtown slc, went to dinner, and walked around temple square. most of all we enjoyed a quiet kid free (well almost, griffin was with us cause he goes where i go) night and just enjoyed being together. it was probably the last relaxing night we'll be having together for awhile. the last 9 years have been full of ups and downs but mostly ups. i am so grateful to have jason as my husband and best friend. i'm so grateful for the relationship he has with our girls and pray that it always stays strong. he will be a great example to griffin as to what a husband and father should be. i'm also so grateful for the relationship he has with the lord and the respect he has for his priesthood. it is a huge blessing in our house. pretty much i'm the luckiest girl in the world!
here is the simplified version of our crazy month.
olivia had a mini dance recital. she looked adorable which was good cause she didn't dance very much. she really didn't like having people watch her.

it wouldn't be december without going to cabela's to see santa himself. i'm telling you if you haven't done this you are missing out. as you can see hes the real deal and they give you the picture for free. not to mention they give fudge samples out while you wait in line!

we spent christmas in bountiful with my parents, rob's family, his friend ali, and rosie. we ate way too much food. played sweet valley high. which is the world's best game!! and took care of my cute mom. she thought it would be a good idea to go ice skating and fell and broke her wrist. maybe not the best idea shes ever had!

of course we acted out the nativity story on christmas eve and ali and robert were the wise men. i don't know where they found their outfits but they were awesome!

santa came and the girls were on the nice list so they were spoiled rotten.

candy for breakfast of course.

mya turned 2 on the 28th. we were lucky enough to have 2 of our cute nieces, who were visiting from cali, come sleepover with us. the girls spent the day playing dress up and modeling. we had cake and ice cream that night with jason's family and more the next night in bountiful with my family.

opening gifts.

typical mya face before blowing out the candels.

olivia got to roller skate for the first time. she loved it and looked pretty cute doing it!

so thats our december in a nutshell. now we're more than half way through january and little griffin will be here in about 6 weeks. somedays it feels like he will never come and others i feel very overwhelmed that i'm about to have 3 kids! mostly i'm just ready to have my body somewhat back to myself. i'm not exactly the biggest girl so i'm really running out of room for both of us. i've tried to explain to him if he wanted to come a bit early he would be more comfortable. a girl can wish right! as good as i am about blogging he will probably be here by the next time i get around to an update. wish me luck!

we spent thanksgiving with jason's parents this year. we ate way too much. then we ate some more. its was quiet and relaxing and we had a great time. the girls wanted to play outside so daddy and papa took them out to run around. when i went to check on them this is what i found.

yes, they somehow talked fat, tired mommy into getting in the leaves too. it was gross.

i stole this picture of mya from rosie. shes just so cute i had to post it. its hard to believe she is almost 2! how does that happen?! she is one of my biggest trials in life but i couldn't be more in love with her. she has taught me a lot about myself and a lot about being a mom. no matter how much we struggle to get through the day sometimes its all worth it when she wraps her little arms around my neck and gives me her big mya hug followed by holding my cheeks and giving me a big kiss. these are not easy to get so if you've had one you know how great they are.

Olivia started dance class this year. She is the cutest little dancer in the class of course! Mya seems to think that she too is in the class and does everything the teacher asks. The owner of the studio asked me why I don't have her in the 2 year old class. I explained thats because shes not 2 yet. She said she is a better dancer and better listener than most of the 2 year olds she teaches. Lets hope it stays that way.

Fall fun

This might be a long post but if didn't do it all at once it just wasn't going to happen. So here are all the fun fall things we have been doing.
We met my mom at Gardner Village to se the witches. We went on a day that school was out and it was a really bad idea! We didn't stay long.

We took the girls to the barnyard boo at thanksgiving point. They got to play games and get prizes and see all the animals.
Of course they had to get their faces painted. I have never seen Mya sit so still in her life.

Halloween hopscotch

We ended the day by milking a cow. Jason wimped out and didn't do it. What a baby.

Jason's mom made a yummy halloween feast for sunday dinner.

Annual pumpkin carving at Uncle John's. The last time I carved a pumpkin I was 11. It didn't go so well to say the least. So i let Jason do the carving with the girls and I take pictures and eat treats all night.

no way was she touching the goop!

Olivia had no problem with it.

Happy Halloween
Mya was an angel, which if you know her you can see the humor in that! Olivia has wanted to be the tooth fairy for about a year and decided the friday before she wanted to be a super hero.

oh so very tired.
